Love to see someone actually doing this. I spent HOURS looking over the aftermarket IMs for the competitors V6s (350/370/G35/G37/etc) and thought it could be done, just would take materials/welding/time/money...all of which I don't have ATM. LOL!

Keep us updated!

Default Manifold

Actually the project has been relatively cheap. I found the velocity stacks online in australia. The aluminum flat sheet at a metal wholesale warehouse. You can find that anywhere. For this to be a running project I purchased a used upper intake manifold so the mounting would be perfect.(To be destroyed it was less than $100.000) I found a shop with a water jet that does fabrication to make the holes match perfectly to the lower intake manifold. My mechanic can also fabricate and make the box which is a huge plus.

I can do the whole thing for less than $1,000.00.

Brian

p.s. The LFA was my inspiration but I know it won't sound that good! But it will sound better than stock I even added an aluminum baffle to get some extra sound.

How much shorter are the velocity stacks vs the original intake manifold runners? Also curious where you are going to put the TB/intake.

I'll admit I've thought about something similar, I've wondered if the F TB/intake would work with the 350. I think it would work better to have the TB centered on the front of the air box rather than the funky angle on the back of the IM that the 250/350 has.

Are you gonna use the OEM throttle body? or are ITB's in the near future for this project?

No ITBs here by the looks of things. Looks like they'll be utilizing the factory TB in the near stock location.

Yes, velocity stack length can be quite the science. Definitely going into uncharted territory here.

OP, there's a member selling their Mapecu3 and harness in the F/S section here if you're interested.

It's just a closed aluminum box with velocity stacks. I'm going to use the stock throttle body and location when covered it will hopefully look stock..

^Yeah, with $100k in supporting mods (standalone ecu, etc etc). Seen and discussed previously. Even discussed with the owner about it in detail.
