Those are ITB's tho which if the OP is not doing that, he should be fine with a closed box and OEM tune. Correct me if i am wrong but The stock upper intake manifold is a dumb manifold with no sensors or water lines other than EGR and vacuum. It should open a few HP even on the stock ECU. Im surprised no companies have yet to make an aftermarket manifold yet
This has been done now, except for this project the owner just used the lower OE intake portion as the "stacks" and tied it altogether with a custom intake chamber.
That's interesting. I would hazard a guess that doing away with the upper manifold and only using the short runners in the lower manifold would move the power band a bit up the rev range. Not sure how that would work without an ECU program to fix and fuel/timing issues and also increase the rev limiter.
Also I would think (maybe because I don't know any better ) that if you are moving the TB to the front of the engine bay it would be easier to use the air-box, and or intake, and or TB and or all of the above from an ISF.
