Default How much oil do you Add?

The Owner's Manual says to add 6.7 Qts with filter change in my '09 350. I did my first oil change last night and added 6.5 qts. Checked it this morning and it is in the "safe range", duh...

My question is:
For all of you DIY, do you add 6, 6.5, 6.7 or 7 qts. Obviously from looking at my stick this morning, 6.7 would seem to be perfect and put the oil level at the top button on the stick. I guess I'm toying with either 6.5 so i can save the other half for the next oil change or going with 7 which I don't think would hurt anything.

6.7 here. I put in 6.5 qts, then keep checking the dip stick until I'm at the right level.

Agree with VTsuckah; that's exactly what I do.

6.7 qts. I even bought one of those funnels that could measure .7 qts because I'm OCD like that.

I think it's better to underfill than to overfill your oil.

IF you are DYI, the amount of oil might vary depending on the angle the car is tilted unless you are jacking up the car on stands for an oil change. Just keep checking the oil with the dip stick. Too much oil will cause problems just as too little will.

Put in a cool 6 quarts. Drive the car, shut it off and wait a few minutes and add if necessary.

I've been adding 6.6 quarts every time for the last 5 years.

6.5 quarts just because it is easier. I check the level occasionally and it never goes below the halfway mark during the 5K mile interval.

I will always buy the 5qt Mobil 1 Jug and will always have single qt on hand. Every oil changes I just pour the 5 qts jug in and the 1 qt bottle then top off with another bottle pouring in a little more than half.
