Default What Oil Filter Are You Using?

First car I've ever taken care of with a cartridge filter. Are you using Toyota or some other brand? What filter are you using?

OEM filter is great quality and very reasonably priced; it's the only one I've used on this car.

If it matters, I'm gonna be using a synthetic at 10K OCI's. I'm wondering if the Toyota will be good for that long or if I should change it out at 5K?

I bought an entire box of the OEM filters and have never had a problem. I know Lexus recommends 10k intervals so it's only logical the filter will last that long.

I've been using wix but plan on going back to OEM when I run out. I bought 120K miles worth of filters when I bought the car...

I've always been a Purolator filter fan, but have been considering Toyota filters lately. When looking the Purolator filters over, I've noticed inconsistencies in how the layers are grouped as well as "debris" (loose pieces of filter material stuck between the folds of their filters. I'm mental about most things but more so when it comes to oil filtration. Some of the filters I've looked at have folds that are really, really close together and others that are spread way apart. I will make a note to take some example pics in the future.
