Default How Cold is your AC?

This may sound like a stupid question, but after switching between cars, I feel like my IS250's AC isn't as cool as it should be. I recently had the compresser changed and a recharge done as well, (cabin filter too if it matters) and while it blows cool, it's not exactly ice cold. It's no where as cold as my 4Runner, GS, or ES. After a while it does become a little colder, but not much. I know this is subjective, but do you guys find the AC to be weaker than other cars you've owned, or should I bring it back to the dealer? I'm just not sure if it's naturally like this.

Mine is icy cold; easily able to get the cabin as cold as I want even on the hottest days. If you car won't blow as cold as a 4Runner, GS or ES, then something is wrong. Did the place that did the work find and fix any leaks? Did they pull a deep vacuum before charging?

I actually have a similar problem. I have an 06 is350
And don't feel the ac is as cold as other cars, my moms pilot as well as my brothers Elantra is colder than my car. Both their cars being 2011.

Different manufacturers do design their a/c systems a little different and yes its true some cars do give a little colder air but generally not by that much. If you have a late model car they all generally should have a very similar temp range . The only correct way to determine if the air is blowing as cold as it should be is to use a temperature gun or temperature probe to determine the temp of the air coming out from the vent . If you have a probe stick it in to the vent at least 5 inches and let it sit there for a min or 2 to get the temperature all the way inside the vent and if u have a temp gun make sure to aim it all the way deep inside the vent. The temperature should be around 42 to 50 degress when the blower is set to med or low on a 80 to 90 degree day and even on the hottest day u can think off (lets say a 105 degree day ) should not cross 55 degrees . These test obviously should be done after the car has be on and running for 10 to 15 mins offcourse with the air set to recirculate and preferably while driving as the a/c is more efficient while the car is moving.

Yeah, I was thinking it should be colder than a 2000 4Runner, especially after the repairs, but I didn't want to bring the car into the dealer for nothing. While it's there, I guess I'll get a quote on the rear diff leak where the axle goes into the side of the diff. If anyone has any info on that, that would be great ha. Thanks again

I've always thought my 2010 a/c was not as cold as other cars; and I have owned it since new!

So I am glad I am not the only one!

My 03' Corolla with 187k miles blows colder than my 09' is350! You have to wait a few minutes, lets say 5-10 before it actually gets cold but not ice cold even though the temp is "LO"

Cold enough to get my passengers to shiver on 100+ degree days.

So today was 90 and humid as ****, now I know for sure the AC should be colder than this. Bringing it in Tiesday and have a GS350 loaner on reserve, I'll take it haha

I live in North Texas and with using the fan on the first speed, it gets very cold in my 2IS. So much so that I have to just turn it off at times.

I had a 2015 IS loaner a couple months ago, and it's definitely colder than my car (air coming out was "ice cold"). I thought about maybe it needs a recharge or something, but I'm not sure if I want to make it that cold. It's kinda uncomfortable with such cold air, but it will cool down the car faster :/
