Never had any issues with out 09 IS350. Water pump was the only cost but since we have Certified Mechanics in the family. it was not costly. We used certified Lexus parts to keep it the same. other than that, tires and Oil changes. 81K miles later, perfect vehicle.

I won't say the positives as it greatly outweighs the negatives.

2006 is350
Regular maintenece following owners manual, rear driver shock blew at 45k ( warranty fixed that)
Rear seats do not good down
No USB/Bluetooth until 2010
I live in NYC, gas mileage is around 14mpg avg.
Rear seats are CRAMPED. Feels like a coupe but you have 4 doors
Sunroof wouldn't close properly (130$ fix from dealer)
Ac not feeling as cold as my other cars
Not being able to turn traction off without pedal dance (06 models only)

These are probably all the negatives from me.

My 2009 IS350 has Bluetooth built in.

I got my CPO 07 IS250 back in 2010 as bday gift for myself. I have the Platinum extended warranty as well which save me a ton of money on issues. The first 2 years I had no issues. I then discovered the CL website which helped me A LOT! Thanks CL fam!. So I researched for things to look out for. Below are the list of items I had fixed over the past 5 years (2010-2015):

Wheel bearing: fixed under warranty (saved $600)
Failed navi screen: Fixed under warranty (saved $6000)
Engine misfire: Fixed under warranty/recall.
Trunk latch recall. Fixed
Lug nut for windshield wiper recall. Fixed
Water pump: Fixed under warranty.
LED needles in dash cluster failed: fixed under warranty.
Cracked Drip moldings. Complained to corporate and got $200 credit to buy parts and fixed my self.
Fuel sensor recall. Fixed.
Melting dash: I have the letter for replacement but I can't prove that my dash is melting because it's only sticky when it's hot. But as soon as the temp cools down it's fine. Lexus rep said they will not replace unless they can take pics of it actually melted.

Overall, I still love my car. The above issues were a pain but thankfully having the extended warranty helped. It might seem like a lot of issues but I think it's a lot better than the list of issues BMW owners have.

For anyone with the cam gear rattle on IS250s, have you found out about not fixing it and just dealing with the rattle at startup?

I have an '08 IS250 with 95K miles. Original owner.

Negatives:

1. Underpowered
2. Gas mileage is less than what the readout shows. My car shows around 30mpg but I really get around 26-27mpg and I drive 80% highway.
3. Lack of storage.
4. Car is cramped for its size.
5. Back seat doesn't fold down.
6. Engine is prone to carbon buildup. I use a 3m fuel system tune up kit every 15K miles and have an oil catch can.

Positives:

1. Interior quality is top notch (although people are having issues with the dash melting)
2. Exterior quality is top notch. Car is 7 years old and not a single door ding! (although I always park in the back of parking lots)

I've had the following issues while the car was under warranty:

1. Timing cover leak.
2. Failed water pump.
3. Driver side rear shock developed a leak.

Issues after warranty:

1. Cam gears are making noise on warm startups. Dealer quoted $2200 to replace. Cheapest I have found parts is just under $700 to do it myself. I will probably do it myself and replace the valve stem seals while I am at it.
Thank for information

I dropped it, have f sport intake, f sport sway bars, and a few other modifications. I put like 200 miles on it so far this year (each year it decreases over the last 8 years), so I don't fancy spending thousands on a car that almost depreciated half what I paid. Headers and a mid pipe will not even pass smog for California. The car has been problem free unlike so many others so there is no real complaint from me.

I'm still kind of putting mine off. I've been experiencing it for 25K miles now. It has been getting worse but now I only drive the car back and forth to work. Mine only rattles when the car is warm and it has sat for 30 min - 2 hours. I'm not really running errands in this car as much as I use to so I don't experience the rattle as much because of it. Unless it starts doing it during a cold start like others have noticed, I plan on waiting until the 120K spark plug change and pulling the valve covers off when I have the intake removed. I will check to see if the bolts are backing out on the cams at that point. I will probably replace them anyway because I want to replace the valve stem seals as well.

I have had my 2006 IS250AWD since 2010. The only issues I've had are the exhaust system cracking on both sides due to speed bumps and the stock 17" rims becoming corroded. Other than that, this car has been incredible.
