Advise on buying Lexus IS350 PLEASE! Should I buy Lexus IS350?
Hello, everyone. I am looking into buying a 2009 Lexus IS350 rwd with about 85,000 miles for $14,500. It has the Lexus extended warranty till 100k miles or November of 2015. I like the Lexus IS 350 a lot. However, I have yet to check that particular car out. I am sure I can learn from your guys's experience. I have been researching about this IS 350 for the past week. I have a few questions that will help me. SO Please help me by answering:
1. What are the most common problems with this car?
2. Is this car as reliable as it is said to be?
3. What reacalls or TSBs are for this car?
4. As for the warranty can I extend this warranty further to 125k or more?
5. How is the rwd in snow or rain? ( I am in Michigan)
Lastly, do you guys think this is a good deal and please provide any other advice that will genuinely help me.

If clean record and car drive great I would go for it. Best thing to let Lexus mechanic inspect before buying. IS350 is one of the most reliable car. For recall call Lexus dealer to check the Vin#.

I haven't had any complaints about this car. OK 1. We can't F with tuning this car but other than that my **** is running smooth and it's my daily dumped on 19's. I've changed the most common problem, the water pump. I didn't need to, yet, but did anyways cause I was installing an upgraded alternator. I seriously have no other complaints. There are recalls just Google it.

I have an 09 is 350 aswell. only 50k on mine. Bought a few months ago, took it to lexus for a full check up and had mechanic personally tell me he would buy it if he was looking for one. Its a Toronto car that now lives in Tennessee. It was not purchased at lexus fyi. put about 10k on it since purchased and not a problem yet...LOVE IT!!! Slammed with exhaust and intake. LOVE IT!!! sounds like a good price if car is clean. buy it if it checks out. Good Luck.

Sorry, I am new to this kind of thing so I am not too familiar.
I wanted to ask you guys if the navigation touch screen not working is a common problem.

1. What are the most common problems with this car?
Mechanically nothing. It is just dated.
2. Is this car as reliable as it is said to be?
Good.
3. What reacalls or TSBs are for this car?
The major is the cam gear and fuel line.
4. As for the warranty can I extend this warranty further to 125k or more?
No point in it from what I have seen unless the car you are getting is clearly abused.
5. How is the rwd in snow or rain? ( I am in Michigan)
I do not know.
Lastly, do you guys think this is a good deal and please provide any other advice that will genuinely help me.
I bought the car new, but if I had 15k-20k for a used car, I would be looking somewhere else simply because I prefer a sportier cars like my other car. It is a good car if you simply want a smooth riding and reliable car.

You can probably fix it with an ebay digitizer replacement for under $100 if you are willing to follow the guide and spend a few hours taking apart the center console. But it is good for negotiating the price down...a whole new nav unit from Lexus is about $1700 plus however much they would charge for installation. Give your local dealership a call for a quote.
