This topic seems to come up every now and then. The plugs are rated for 60,000 miles (96,000 km) by Lexus and Denso. Anyone changing them at any other mileage is not following the recommendations. You can change them whenever you'd like, but they are supposed to be changed at 60k.

What's a good price to pay for changing the plugs? Aside from DIY of course. Unfortunately don't have the tools, space or patience to do this.

Dealer quoted $ 525. Local mechanic quoted $ 475.

I have an 07 IS250 and just changed mine out at 70k. Honestly the plugs werent even that bad and could have gone longer. But I always try and go by what the manual says for maintanance. I also paid $450 from a local mechanic.

I had my plugs done at 100k kms during the valve spring recall cause it would be free labour for them to install it at Lexus. My denso Spark plugs were bought at Toyota as it was bit cheaper then what Lexus wanted.

I replaced mine at 60K the first time but they still looked good. But since I had gone through the trouble of removing all the stuff just to get to them I went ahead and replaced them. I will replace them again at 160K, maybe a little before that. My dealer recommended them changed at 100k, but the manual says 60K. And because they still looked good when I took them off at 60K I'm just going to wait till they hit 100k.

Anyone know the Toyota Part number for the spark plugs. I bought them from Sewell last time. Not going to pay the $27 per spark plug they want at the dealer. I think thats what they wanted.

The part number is the same at Toyota and Lexus, 90919-01249.

I did mine at 60K. Don't forget to order new manifold gaskets if you have a 250. It took a little bit of time but was fairly easy to do.I don't think it is really worth pushing the mileage on spark plugs... what are you trying to save... 1-2 spark plug changes over the life of the car.

150k on mine and haven't changed them yet and at this point I'm afraid to see what they look like.

Changed at 78k when i first got the car.

I cant believe the labor these mechanics charge for this job because it takes less than one hour to replace all the spark plugs. I don't even have a garage i just did it parked by the curb. I will say that having the right tools will help you cut your time in half. If you can change your oil you can do this you just need time if you've never tackled this before.

I found the plugs on ebay from a California Lexus dealer's parts dept. They only cost 60 bux. Make sure you buy from a dealership to ensure authenticity.

Lastly, when i took the spark plugs out they appeared to be in excellent condition. I was actually quite amazed since all the spark plug jobs i had done in the past had really worn spark plugs. The center electrodes where usually worn down to a small nub. The gap on the old plugs were almost identical the new ones when held next to each other.

Just did mine at 63K. Denso Iridium TT at Autozone, AA or O'Reilly's, - the same - $7.99/each.
