Codes without CEL on?
Can the dealer get codes from the computer if the CEL is no longer on?
For the past month I had the CEL come on and off intermittently. On 3 of those times the car would have a heavy vibration if going over 25-30 mph. I would pull over, shut the car off and wait a few minutes and the problem would go away and some time later the CEL light will no longer be on.
I did have the Carbon buildup / misfire problem taken care of back in June 2011 and know that Lexus extended the warranty for that problem for 9 years from in service date. Problem I have is that the 9 years expires TOMORROW (June 19, 2015). Right now the CEL is not on but I don't want to wait for it to go back on and then I am way passed the 9 year mark.

Yes, the codes will be stored/saved in the ECU. I think you should bring it in and have the dealer scan the ECU. They will probably charge you $100 for diagnostic but it might be related to extended warranty and they will fix it. Or you could find someone with Techstream to scan it for you.
