Exclamation Radio Problem: pop sound and power cycles AMP

Hi everyone, (issue started just yesterday)
'08 IS250 with stock radio (no dvd nav)

i was listening to music (via aux) and then it made a pop sound and mute for two seconds then plays normal, it doesnt do it with volume below 30 but if its at 36-40 + it will do it again,

it behaves the same way in radio, dvd etc all inputs, as if the AMP is going into protected mode

the radio doesnt power off but it seems like the AMP is power cycling? i do have a speaker blown in the rear but its been like that for months...but it could be the root cause to go into protected mode?

I am thinking You may have a short circuit in the AUX cable or you audio system. this may be an easy fix or a hard fix. A short circuit basically happens when a positive and negative wire touch each other or a positive wire touches the chasis of the car. Start with changing the AUX cable or see if u have the same problem while lets say listening to a CD only or the radio without using an AUX cable . If you still have the problem then try disconnecting the wires to the blown speaker u were talking about and see if u have the same problem. if so then u may have to do the same to the rest of speakers . Basically you will have to try to isolate the problem to a particular speaker or set of wires. the short may also be in the head unit itself which is unlikely but possible. Was the unit or speakers ever replaced . then if they were start to look there as sometimes the work was not carefully done and creates a short circuit later on.

I would start by replacing the bad speaker; I've had a bad speaker short an amp in the past. If that doesn't fix the issue, start looking for a used replacement on eBay or somewhere.
