Default Thumbing sound from right rear

Hello all. First post (besides my hello). I am getting a thumbing sound from the right rear when I hit a bump. I took the tire off, but didn't see anything that is loose, bent or out of place. When driving everything feels fine, and it drives straight and true. I still need to remove the truck carpet to check the shock tower from that side, but any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. Paul

Check that all of the nuts/bolts are tight and that the bushings are all in good shape (not horribly cracked/broken/missing). Start with the sway bar end links.

Thanks for the response. I just pulled the trunk carpet and everything looks good from the top side (nothing loose or worn). I will pull the wheel again and start putting wrenches to things. Bushings all looked ok when I check previously, but will double check. Could it be just a blown shock? (but the ride and handling is fine, just the horrible thump when I hit a bump on the right rear).

Stock shocks? How many miles on them?

I have the same problem. I'm sure mine is due to the knuckle arm bushing, which is actually a bearing, it connects your lower control arm to the knuckle. I'm waiting on parts. I'll post if that solved the problem.

Google Lexus knuckle arm bushing or carrier arm bushing
