Default Very slow tire air leak

So I got a tire pressure warning about 2 weeks ago with the rear driver side tire showing 30PSI while all the other tires are fine. I filled it with air to about 38PSI, but now I have a low tire pressure warning again for the same tire at 30PSI.

What could cause this slow air leak? I'm planning to take it to Discount Tires or something. Is it generally an easy and inexpensive fix?

You probably have a small nail or screw picked up on the road or parking lot, the tire shop can plug or patch it usually , it should cost around $10-15 bucks.

Check if your TPMS sensor is leaking, I had that issue before went to a tire shop multiple times they took the tire off inspected it and said everything was fine, after about the 3rd time they checked my sensor and that was the issue. Just spray some soapy water on it and if it bubbles thats the easiest way to check it at home.

^easiest and cheapest way. Take the wheel off and start spraying.

I had a slow leak right at the tire bead that was losing air at about the same speed as yours is. Tire shop dismounted tire, applied a thicker (black colored) bead sealer, and remounted. Been holding air great since.

Post #2 is the winner. If you are a Discount Tire customer, the repair will be free. More importantly they will repair it correctly with an inside patch and a plug.

Same thing happened to me and it turned out to be a hairline crack on the wheel. The only way to find out is taking the wheel and spray some soapy water to locate the leak.
Hopefully your will be a simple nail.

Thanks guys. I just got back from Discount Tires. It was a nail in the tire, and they fixed it for free. I thought a nail in the tire would make it go flat fast like the movies, I guess it doesn't.

It would if you had pulled it out yourself. With the nail embedded, it acts sort of like a plug, and leaks slowly.
