That's cheap! My dealership charges approx $80 for regular oil and $130 for synthetic. I just do it myself for $40-50 with synthetic.

Very easy and very fast. Should learn how to do it rather than dealing with the dealership.

Maybe the $56.40 Lexus oil changed they used conventional oil and The upcharge from Toyota was with Synthetic oil. Idk just a thought. Like everyone said Oil changge is very easy on the IS. Also you always know you've done it right.

i don't mind paying $80 or $50.

but i feel like i have been cheated.

cause lexus suppose to charge more than toyota.

but it was the other way round...Toyota charged me more...so i feel like i have been cheated!!!

and Toyota didn't even wash nor vacuum.

Anyways...it's a new day...and my car is looking fresh since i washed it at home...

Time to ride her and make her scream...she has a loud exhaust!!!

In a previous job, i used to work for Jiffy Lube and no one waited to let the old oil fully drain. It took too long. This is one of the many reasons I work on my own cars. When I'm doing my oil change, I add about a quart of new oil as the old oil is almost done draining. This "flushes" out most of the old oil that sits in the engine and pan. I am probably being **** for doing this but I believe it keeps deposits at a minimum.

If you bring your own oil to lexus, the labor is only like $25 something dollars plus oil filter parts.

Not sure why you're stressed out about an oil change I don't think anything happens even if you run a thousand miles over. The Lexus dealership I go to charges $55 for oil change.

$7 for the filter wrench, $80 for a quality jack and $30 for decent jack stands. You now have the ability to change your own oil from now on.... I buy the 5 qt jug of Mobil 1 from Walmart for about $27 (plus two quarts because the IS hold 6.6). The filter that I use is Purolator and it cost me about $6. Buy Toyota/Lexus if you like but it isn't that much more. You are now capable of changing your own oil for at the tune of about $45 per oil change...... Problem solved! Three screws reveal the cartrige oil filter, and then you only have to remove the drain plug after that. It really is quite that simple.
