I just came back from a 2500 miles trip in 4 days. I removed my spare and borrowed a member's OEM wheel (1). It bulges out a little bit but it is for the peace of mind in case something goes sour in the middle of no where.

I got 30MPG throughout the whole trip. I seen 32MPG at one point for a tank going ~80MPH. 100% highway.

My car in Zion National Park, Utah

Yes. I've made the journey from WA state to Florida and Alabama, three times.

Only thing you should do is change the oil and make sure the preventative maintenance has been performed. Highway miles are much easier on the car than city miles. Also like the guys above mentioned check air pressure in your tires. You will get better gas mileage and not prematurely wear out your tires.

2,500 miles is nothing on a road trip for a car. If you were driving a beater car that is moments away from breaking down you'd have a good topic.

Have fun. Some tips for you. Load up on road trip snacks, beef jerky & water bottles. Also don't forget to pack some extra plastic grocery bags to use as garbage bags for the duration of the trip. A cooler in the back seat works well. If you need to cover quite a few miles in a day bypass all the rest areas and only empty your tank when you fill up the gas tank. I've done several 1,100 back to back days on a road trip. For me 1,100 miles is 17 hours. This is straight driveing with no lunch stop. Just get to your destination for dinner and snack in the car when you get hungry.
