Default Got rear ended...now hearing a creaking sound

I was hit from behind while stopped on the highway the other day. The car behind me was braking hard but didn't stop in time. My rear bumper is cracked, that's all I can see. However, I am hearing a new creaking sound which seems to be coming from the back glass window? Anybody have any thoughts on what it might be?

Thanks

Jim

Were either the mufflers got touch at all? Maybe the muffler or the heatshield? Look underneath the car, around the mufflers.

I will look, but the sound appears to be coming from inside the car on the passenger's side (rear).

So the only damage was a crack in the rear bumper cover? Do you get whiplash? Have you tried removing the bumper cover to see what damage behind it might exist? It should take all of 5 minutes to remove the rear bumper cover.

Have you call insurance to report accident?

Can you post a picture? If it's coming from the inside then the accident may have been forceful enough to shift/move an interior panel. It's tough to narrow it down with the limited information you provided, but if the force was strong enough anything is possible.

Cheers,

Michael

I do not have whiplash. I have very good insurance and will have the car in the shop maybe next week. I'm going to ask them to look into the new sound that I'm hearing but I was hoping to give them some insight as to what it might be cuz it sure sounds like it is inside of the car. I think maybe tonight I'll ask someone to drive me around while I sit in the back seat maybe I can figure it out from there.
