Does anybody know what the fuel injection service at a dealership consists of? I think it mentioned cleaning the throttle and some other parts? I have cleaned the throttle body of cars in the past, I was wondering if this service is something that I could do myself. Thanks in advance.

If you've cleaned the throttle body in other cars, you can do it on the IS. No reason to have the dealer do it for you......

Please don't waste the money.

If you plan to clean your throttle body plate and the surrounding housing, be careful when moving the plate because it is connected to an electric motor.

My 350 is at the dealer for a recall and they called me offering me this service for $159. Sounded like a ripoff so I declined.

its not just cleaning your throttle body. they do clean the throttle however they also run a carbon cleaner through your fuel system that basically works as your fuel (disconnect fuel line, plug in the canister and plug compressed air into that and set regulator to fuel pressure spec). one bottle will run the car for about 20-30 minutes. it does help clean up the carbon. this was a temporary fix for the carbon problems the is250s had before they came out with the recall according to my coworker who was a lexus master tech and now a toyota master tech. an is250 would benefit just cause they carbon bad but an is wouldn't really benefit unless it was higher mileage.
