I had the EXACT same issue with my '06 NAV screen. I ended up getting a nice, used '08 NAV unit off of Craigslist, and that fixed my issue. Per my thread below, replacing the screen itself WAS NOT the issue; in my opinion, it's a some sort of power supply issue.

Before I purchased the replacement NAV unit, I had spoken with the gentlemen in GA about his ebay auction below :
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LEXUS-LS-GS-ES-IS-RX-LX-GX-SC-250-300-330-350-430-460-470-NAVIGATION-REPAIR-/181728199125?hash=item2a4fd841d5&vxp=mtr
He said he'd guarantee to fix it; and if for any reason he isn't able to, he'd not charge anything. When I reached out to him originally, he had 1...maybe two positive feedback ratings on ebay. As you can see since then, he has been busy and has personally been recommended by others on CL here to repair these NAV units for this very issue.
Good luck!
