Removing plasti dip, is thinner safe for the rim?

I used goo gone on my hood for the plasti dip. It worked well and didn't mess up my clear coat. just make sure to wash it thoroughly afterwards.

I took the plasti dip off my IS with plenty of wd40, waited 15 mins, sprayed with a garden hose, the majority came off instantly, and fine tuned the rest with a dry micro fiber cloth. No damage to the finish of the rim. We did take the wheels off, so we didn't get any on the brakes.
