Hello,

I recently purchased an '07 IS250 6MT in a beautiful DSM color. A couple days ago when leaving for work, I noticed when i start accelerating in 1st or 2nd, sometimes even 3rd gear I hear a slight noise that sounds like a pulley or a belt (that high pitched squealing sound).

I was wondering what this issue could be. There are no CEL's.

When I had a similar noise I thought initially it was one of the idler pulleys. Purchased one, but never installed it. Ended up just replacing the accessory belt with a new OEM one and the squeal/squeak went away.

I've got the same issue but have too many projects going on right now, it's the least of my prob. I'm also assuming the same thing, belt or pulley. Sound is a very tiny squeal at idle.

There was a thread here a while ago. I had a similar issue, turned out my alt pulley was dirty under the cover.

Thanks for the link, it was very informative. I see that my mechanic (aussieauto) posted in that thread so he should noe what im talking about when I bring my car to him.
