Default Unlocking doors

I have read my user manual but not seeing the answer to these

1) If car is running and I try to unlock passenger door with remote fob, it will not open. I have to open driver door and unlock it on the driver door button.
2) If car is running, I can't pop the trunk open with remote fob. Again, I have to open the driver's door and press the trunk button manually.

What am I doing wrong?
Thanks

I don't understand the question? I don't think you can do either of those with the fob if the car is on.

Well then you probably just answered my question. With my previous car remote fob (Infiniti G35) I could unlock the passenger doors and trunk while the car was running. Not able to with this fob.

They do it this way for safety reason.

For example, if someone in your family has access to your second key fob while you are backing out the drive way, they click on the trunk and it pops up. That isn't fun lol.
