Installing iVIC-DR and now my car wont start

I was installing the Vaistech iVIC-DR. After connecting the unit iVIC-DR, reconnecting the battery, and turning the car to ACC mode, the car stopped working. Pressing the start button causes some random lights to go on and a mechanical whirring sound. The nav unit screen turns on briefly and then turns off. Pressing the button again does nothing.

Has anyone had any experience with this or know what would cause this?
