According to most of the info on the net the carbon build-up issue is inherent to the design GDI engines.

One possible solution that I've read up on is to install an oil catch can so that the crankcase vapors are not re-introduced into the intake. These vapors are thought to be what builds up on the back of the intake valves.

Has anyone gone the route of installing an oil catch can as a means to prevent this issue? if so, what type or brand would you recommend?
