Default How do you replace the roof molding?

Car '06 IS250. I got a new molding and new clips but I can't figure out how to install this thing. Lining up the molding with the old clips still on the car it looks like they go on the 'two parallel bar' area on the molding (sorry for the blurry pic). Do the clips just get glued to the molding? I would hope it would be something more secure than that. Can I just pry out the old clips?

Old clips just pull right up with a trim tool, or if you have strong fingers, new ones should just clip right in with a nice downward punch with your hand.

Gotcha on putting the clips in the car but how does the molding attach to the clips? Do you add superglue or something?

Mine came off and I ordered a new one and brought the car to my dealer. He sent it to the bodyshop who epoxied the new one on. I sold the car a week later so I'm not sure how it worked out.

On Sewell's site, do a search for part number 7555553050 and it will bring up a list of them for all IS version and colors. If you're a member they are only a bit above $50.

For anybody that was confused like I was, you snap the clips onto the area in the picture and then you glue/epoxy the padded side of the clip to the body of the car.
