Default Hold off replacing melting panels

Guys,

My mom has a Solara and her car has melting/cracking panel issue like ours. Toyota said hold off on replacing them because they are about to release a recall.

Not sure how true this is but my parents a pretty good relationship with Toyota as they've been purchasing Toyotas for 20+ years. They offered to pay half initially but this recall is supposedly all expenses paid.

Take care,

Chris

Well, if this truly comes through I'll be getting me a new dash and maybe a new driver's door panel.

But I'll not be holding my breathe.

Really!!?? Thats one thing i hate about the interior of these vehicles. I was about to take my car in this week to have them look at dash and panels to see what they say but how soon is soon?

I really hope this is true.
Mine is barely starting to show signs of a melting dash, but it is very minimal, and I'm already annoyed.
It's that feeling when there's a piece of lint on the dash, and you're carefully trying to blow it off instead of using your fingers or a piece of cloth...
I can't imagine those who have it bad..

I have dog hair stuck to mine. Its nearly impossible to get off. And when I try to get behind my radio, the upper part of the dash starts to break off. My dash looks like a dog chewed on it.

o gosh thats sounds very depressing. I have lint and hair dust and if i wipe my radio or console area i have to be careful and not hit the dash or it leaves marks and also gets my microfiber with sticky black stuff
