Oil Maintainance - 07 Lexus IS250 RWD
Hi Team,
My IS250 currently has 72,000 miles. Can you please help with the following:
1. What type of oil I need to purchase?
2. Any recommended oil brand?
3. How many quarts do I need to purchase?
4. With 72,000 miles do I need to change sparks? If yes, do you have the part number and how many I need to purchase?
5. Can my mechanic remove the Oil Main alarm/signal with this diagnosis machine?

1. What type of oil I need to purchase? 5W30
2. Any recommended oil brand? Pennzoil Platinum
3. How many quarts do I need to purchase? I believe 6.5 quarts
4. With 72,000 miles do I need to change sparks? If yes, do you have the part number and how many I need to purchase? Just go to Sewell Lexus website and get from there. They only sell OEM plugs. Pretty cheap
5. Can my mechanic remove the Oil Main alarm/signal with this diagnosis machine? You can do it yourself. Don't remember process but pretty easy. Search for it. Thanks

You can reset the oil maintenance light yourself. Before turning off your car, make sure the odometer is on total miles driven. Turn off the car. Hold the odometer reset button before you turn on your car again and wait till you see the odometer dots blink from 6 dots to 0, then let go. Done!
