Default Static Sounding Noise coming from Radiator/Front Grill Area

06 IS350

Theres a funny noise coming from around the radiator or front grill area, been going on and off for about 4 months now, didnt think much of it.

Sounds like static or an old windows computer loading

Car still drives fine otherwise, no smells, no leaks, nothing

Doesnt sound like a pulley or belt, water pump perhaps?

I cant seem to think what it can be, besides maybe water pump or radiator related, sounds more radiator related though since its in that area

I stay on top of maintenance, any little thing that breaks, I fix it right away.

Anybody have this noise before or know what it may be?

Sounds like the ball bearings that started to go bad in one of my gaming PCs tower fans.

I was able to diagnose where the noise is coming from, pictured below circled in red.

this picture is an example of our engine bay, not my actual car, so disregard that pink coolant down there

What kind of pulley is this and is this water pump related? its where the noise is coming from and its a bit of a wobble when the noise happens in and out, but when it stops, no wobble. Its a slight wobble around the bolt area, not very noticeable until you look very closely.

I also had the alternator done few months back, could this be related?

again, no leaks, no pink crust, no smoke, no whining bearing noises, just the noise in the video above.

^I had a chirp coming from my engine a while back and I thought it was the tensioner pulley, which is what you circled there. I would attach a breaker bar with socket onto that pulley while running and slightly put tension on it; the sound would go away. So I figured that pulley was going bad. But first, I wanted to try replacing the belt to see if that helped at all before diving into the tensioner replacement (much more in-depth than a belt replacement). Installed a new OEM belt and the chirp went away!

What I'm trying to say here is try a new belt first; and then if that doesn't work, try replacing the tensioner.
