Specifically, I meant previous versions before 8.1 is causing issues with bluetooth connectivity and that 8.1 will solve it. Have you updated to the latest 8.1 firmware? This should fix the issue.

i had some issues in the beginning too.
i deleted all my other devices paired to the car first then paired the new phone to the car as a brand new device. it worked after that. then i had to reset the bluetooth settings for the music portion manually as well and repair to the new device as it was recognizing the old one.

Okay so I figured this out..
There's 2 different ways to pair your phone and 2 different functions.
You can pair the phone to use for calls by simply connecting your iPhone to the car's phone setting.
Note: this option has 4 phones you can pair. However, this will not let you play your songs via bluetooth.
The car only has 2 available slots for devices to connect bluetooth audio. And the setting is located where you change your devices to connect to bluetooth audio. If I remember correctly, settings > audio > select bluetooth player or something like that.
Good luck

iOS 8.1 has not been released yet. The latest is 8.0.2 and it does NOT fix any of the BT and USB connectivity problems.
