Default 55watt hid conversion

Will a 55watt hid conversion kit melt the projector housing of my is250?

My is came with halogens and im going to get a kit but wanted to get the most brightness without damaging my headlamps since they are new(car crashed into me had them both replaced with new oem ones).
I know 35watt kit wont melt it but here in Puerto Rico more than half the roads have no ilumination at all (there are lamp posts they just dont work) and a lot of potholes and other hazards and dont tell me its ilegal because here police dont stop you with hids in non projector housings neither do they inspect them so i highly doubt they would know mine is a non oem hid kit.

Please only post if your going to help with my doubt dont wine about bliding people with non leveling projectors thats bs.

If you will be using the high beam housing it will probably burn the housing in case of bulb failure . I know such cases .

I have no idea about the low beam side though .

But I don't recommend using bad quality 55w HID kit they are likely to fail

Ive had a couple 55w ballasts burn out on me, but never had a 35w kit burnout on me. Then again I stuffed the slim ballast into the housing. I would stick with a quality 35w, 4300k-5000k as they're clear/bright enough for most situations.

I was thinking of 5000k 55w on the low beams and. Nokya 2500k halogens on the fogs to keep it legal But im prob going with 5000k 35w in lows and fogs to prevent burns with the 55w. I doubt il get pulled over because of hids in fogs since its a lexus and i see people around here with tercels and hids in reflector hl and fogs 9000k lol super blue.

Definitely don't get a 55W HID kit. You will end up getting 50W ballasts mated with 35W HID bulbs. The vendor will tell you that their bulbs are specially designed to handle up to 60W - and they are lying to you.

You will get slightly more light, but a significantly uneven light spread. You're also going to get more glare (bigger arc), and run the risk of damaging your headlights (the 35W bulbs will burn hotter as you are OVERDRIVING them).

thanks for the advice was gonna stick to 35W kit anyways to stay safe since it produces the same heat as the standard halogen but wanted to know if im just a noob and people had good experiences with 55w kits on the lex but was what i expected more heat than light improvement.
i get my kits from a local shop named Dr. Leds they sell Digital AC slim ballasts for $45 with warranty (replacement for 90days no questions asked) if your kit survives this period they usually are gonna last a long time a cheap ballast/light either is DOA or fails in the first month. bought a kit from them and had it for more than a year now no probs at all. ALso gonna get the Nokyas 2500k for fogs to stay legal will post up pics when i do.
