Default Can this tire be repaired ?

Visit some tire shop like NTB, Pep Boys... and all of them refused to repair it. They said replacement is necessary. I hate it as it is my rear tire. Just replaced front tire two month ago...

that looks on the edge and likely not to be patch-able. i had one happen to me recently too. good thing i got tire warranty and it paid for the tire.

it might bubble if they patch it. perhaps you could plug it? they sell the plug kits at pepboys. i mean, you really got nothing to lose.

i would leave the wheel on the car like this video did.

I had one at the same place you do. I brought it to a local independent tire shop and they pulled it out.

Thankfully it didn't puncture through.. Try bringing it to a different place and hope it didn't poke through

I worked at a tire shop before and it could be patched, but it's not recommended. It's a liability issue if someone repairs it, because it's close to the sidewall.

From my experience, A patch can fix it, but I wouldn't want to drive on it long. I know it works, because my service manager would ok it, especially if he knew the customer and knew they wouldn't buy a tire. They'll hold, but they are not expected to and you risk weakening the sidewall and having a blowout.

This is why you get road hazard warranty.

Take it to a local mom and pop tire shop instead of the national chain tire shops.

I'd buy a new tire. Not worth saving $200 over your life.

Discount Tire will tell you it is in the area of the tire that is NOT repairable. The tire will need to be replaced.

Worse case, patch, if not the plug.

Judging by the amount of tread you have left, I'd just replace the tire(s), winter is only around the corner!

WOW sounds like a good plot for a horror film leading to the death of innocent people!
