Drivetrain Thud / Clunk Noise (Rear?) - PLEASE HELP!
Hey Gang,
I've searched but my problem is unique it seems... I have an 08 IS250 AWD and when I get going, at approximately 15 mph I hear a noticeable THUD from what sounds like my rear end.
I don't think it has anything to do with shifting because when I put it in Sport Shift mode and isolate it to 1st gear only, it still makes the noise at around 15 mph.
Thoughts? I'm trying to compile a list of possible problem areas so I can start crossing things off the list (Mounts, drive shaft, U joint, rear diff, fluids, axles). Where do I start?

I've been trying to identify this same issue on my 07 IS250 AWD for months, including 4 hours today alone. Mine is coming front the right rear and is much louder when making a right hand turn. The knocking speeds up when I speed up and doesn't change on rough roads. i am thinking it's not suspension related for me. Someone on the forum suggested axles. I am stumped so far.

If it is a constant clicking noise which can sometimes be associated with thump. Its most likely the rear cv axle being worn and loose and could be the hubs and bearings. I have an 08 is250 and my rear cv axle was just replaced.
