TPMS question as an owner of TWO 2IS cars
SOooooo, I own TWO 06 IS350, one is mine and one is my GF's. We park in the same driveway at our home. Mine has the Chrome 18" and hers are the standard 18". I want to swap the rims so that the chrome ones are on her car and I plan to Plastidip the grey ones. So my question is how can we accomplish this the easiest? I read somewhere that after startup initializationI should be good for about 40 miles before the light would come on. I really want to avoid dismounting all the tires to swap sensors.

+1, Our cars can hold 2 sets of TPMS sensors. If you have both sets programmed to both cars, you can swap wheels back and forth without any hassle.
Also, if you are parked close enough (same driveway) each car could pick up the sensors from the other car and should not light up the dash, unless you go on a longer drive.
Best option, if you know someone who has techstream, they could program the sensors for free. Or you could buy techstream (expensive) and do it yourself. There may be ways to get techstream for about $20 but I don't think I am allowed to discuss prirated software.

And that way I can pull codes from my cars rims and enter into her car and vice versa correct? I may just decide to do this. I'll check out tech stream on ebay thanks.

Definitely worth the $20.
Some people will say you need a 32 bit operating system for the drivers to work or you must use VM ware. I had originally set up VMware with Windows XP and got everything working. But I managed to get the drivers working manually in Windows 7 64 bit. I no longer need/use VMware to operate Techstream.
Unfortunately, I don't have a link for where I found out how to force the drivers to work. But I am sure a quick google search will yield some results.
