Default Springs to coilover install

Hey guys,

So, like many of you I started with springs (H&R) and am now putting in coilovers (Megan EZ Street) because my shocks are on their way out.

I no longer have access to the spring compressor that I used on the initial install, so my question is... will I be able to swap out the springs/shock assembly with the coilovers without a spring compressor? I can't remember if I needed the compressor to put the springs/shocks back into the car. And I won't need to separate the springs and shocks.

You won't need them to install the new coils, but some say to use them when removing the springs. But if careful, you can easily remove the springs from off the car without them.

Just what I wanted to hear, thanks!

One more quick question.

The package I received has the AWD part number and AWD instructions. When I called the company, they said that (for some unknown reason, maybe limited stock) they had swapped the lower bracket on the front 2 shocks with the RWD version and that it should be fine. I am a bit skeptical since I don't want to remove everything and find out they were wrong.

They said that if the lower bracket is grey, it is the RWD version, if it is black, it is the AWD version. But from what I can find online, everyone's looks blue.

Is there a absolute positive way to identify which model I have?

Here's a pic, front on the left, rear on the right.

Those look like RWD coilovers to me, the AWD fronts look different. The fronts look like the ones in the middle for AWD.

Phew, that is a relief. I am planning on installing them sometime this week with the remainder of my vacation time.

After I installed my H&R springs, my shocks still felt great. But in the last couple weeks I have noticed a bit of a floating feeling when going over bumps and then the ride started to get a bit harsher.
