ML volume issue
Hi all,
I am new to this forum. I've recently got a 06 IS250 with the factory ML sound system. I've just noticed that my vole does not work by the stereo or steering wheel. When going into the settings I notice that my face is all the way back and balance is all the way right.... On top of that the mid is missing and I am unable to change this. No sound from Bluetooth either!
I have checked the fuses and all are fine and I can feel the amp in the boot getting warm so it's definitely getting power.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Thanks
Sham

Is it routinely damp/wet where you are? If so, inspect module in right rear trunk for water intrusion.
The body vent flap is known to degrade and fall off. When gone, water can enter the compartment where the amp is and damage it.
Has it ever worked or did you buy it this way?
If you bought it this way, look for signs of erosion, corrosion on the outside and evidence of water present in the area the amp resides.
Do search on water killed my amp. May turn up something.

Thank you. Fixed the issue!!! Amp was gone. Opened the area to find the amp was really warm but no fans working. Pulled it out and opened the amp up. Found 2 diods were broken. Used my soldering iron to remove the old ones and replaced with new ones.... Hooked it back up and I have sound again!! I have now left s little gap for the amp to breath and so shouldn't have the issue again!
Wow! Good for you! Most don't know what a diode is!
You happen to take a picture or note the locations? DXX?
Any clue as to the failure mode? Shorted? Burned?

From a while back.
Another battery terminal reversal blew up the diodes!
