Default DRL question??

Hi, so recently i decided that im gonna have my DRL disabled on my 06 is350 in a few days . I put blue hids on it and i dont like that fact that the Drl are a boring yellowish color so i figured id turn em off. However i was wandering..

. I noticed that currently at night when my headlights turn on the DRL are still on. But only dimmly lit.. So i got to wandering after i go disable the DRL will the highbeams still be dimmly lit as i drive around at night??

The yellowish color of the bulbs next the to the blue Hid's really bother me and i think it ruins the look that im going for.

So if anyone has any experience with this id greatly appreciate it as always. Thanks.

Also.. In the event that they dont turn off. Is there any proven way of getting them to completely shut off? And before anyone ask NO i am not interested in LED DRL . i did consider it but i figured its just not safe driving around with no high beams. Thanks again

Are you sure it's not the small single city light bulb that is in when the headlights are on? Is the dealer turning them off? Some dealers don't do it because they say its a safety design.

You know there is a 194 bulb next to the 9005 highbeam bulbs right? thats constantly on when the parking lights are on.

Like liqB mentioned, either you swap out that bulb for an led for a whiter light or even blue, or remove the 194 bulb if you don't want anything lit in the high beam area when headlights are on.

Oh ok thanks. So how do i remove the 194 bulb?? Is it anymore complicated than removing the HID bulb? Also will it cause the highbeams to not function correctly??

No malfunction. I just did it on mine - 06 IS250. I had HIDs on my lows and fogs and I couldn't stand that yellow bulbs ruining my blue look. I just unplugged them and took them out. That's your best option to get rid of the yellow, unless you want to swap the 194 bulbs - I really don't know how to do that since the plug is different from other plugs like the doom light which is also 194. Hope that helps

Swapping it for an LED is a piece of cake. I also swapped my Fogs for 2014 ISF LEDs.

Default Drl led

Ebay has the DRL LED (very bright, cool white light) with the "fooler" wiring harness so you don't get the code on your dash. Just plug and play, installed in about 30 min.

Disabling the DRL lights can't be done unless the dealership does it. They'd have to reprogram your computer settings but I doubt it. It's probably the little 194 bulb in the headlight. I had the same problem when I was trying to have the clean 6k look. Check out the bulbs from this website. Pretty reasonable prices. Hope this helps.
