Similar to an ethernet cable, but I believe it was a gain control **** used for an aftermarket sub amp.

Looks like a bass control ****. Is there / was there a sub in the car?

It is what has been said. That's where I had mine installed as well as a few other things (puddle lights, headrest monitors, led lights in subwoofer box.

Yes, as stated above it looks like a remote gain control **** for an aftermarket sub-woofer. My Infinity Basslink I had in my 300M Special had one with the sub but I didn't hook it up. I think maybe even some aftermarket amps can use them too. I bet if you trace the wire the other end is dangling in the trunk somewhere...

It is probably the Bass Control **** that is connecting to the JL Audio amplifier. It looks almost exactly the same like mine because I have it in my car

So these were in the back. I know the amp is stock... I think... so Im assuming its plug and play now since it seems like it was already set up.. But this car came with ML and a sub already why another?

Probably a mono channel amp for subs in the rear. The stock amp for the rest of the speakers.

that unit in your hand is a low level converter most likely tapped into the ML amp connection(you can actually see where its tapped in the picture of the amp, its all covered with black tape, the ml amp has a small bass sub in the rear but some people (like me!) like a more deeper thumping bass so you can run an aftermarket amp and sub together with the ML unit.

that other bit is the bass control/level ***. pretty lucky the previous owner left this all in the car!!! you can leave it as its harmless or you can remove the lot, up to u!

Check the battery to see if there is a power wire coming to the back of your car. If there is one it will be plug in and play if you pick up a sub and amp.

Looks like the connections to the factory wiring look pretty good actually; I'd keep that converter in there just in case down the road you'd like more thump! I'd use some electrical tape to cover those inputs on the box though, just so it doesn't come into contact with any metal and cause distortion.
