For those with 06' - 08' hopefully they will replace it for free. From the articles I've read, its really a safety hazard and it could be very dangerous because the cracks from the dash could potentially set off the airbags prematurely. I wouldn't want the air bags to knock me out while I'm driving in the middle of the freeway.
2013 FTW! But yeah, I would be pissed if my airbags knocked me out while I'm driving

I test drove at least 2 Lexi with melted dash and door panels back when I was looking for my IS a few years ago. Surprised it took this long.

I'm in FL and have the same issue with the front door panels. They are sticky and scratch really easily and now the passenger side is even cracking. My dash use to have the same issue until my car was taken apart for something else by the dealership and they broke it and replaced it. I have never used anything but water on the panels. I plan to bring this up to the dealership when I go in for an oil change soon. I do have the Platinum Warranty still also.

I had a Lexus manufacture brand extended warranty and they wouldn't cover the dash or door panels under it. Good luck...maybe their attitude will change after the lawsuits and media attention.

I live in Houston and I experienced the same problem with the dash as early as 2011. When I went to get a recall done I asked the dealer to do the yearly inspection on my car. After they replaced the inspection sticker, I noticed debris on my dash and asked them to remove it but they couldn't lol. . Manager said replace the dash free of charge. Today, all my door panels are experiencing the sticky issue and easy marring and I hate it. I talked to corporate and all they agreed to do (out of good will) is provide a 25% discount to replace the panels. As others already know, each panel is worth 1,100 dollars plus labor. That's not a deal at all when they are aware that this is not normal wear and tear!

I have filed my complaint as well and I am hoping that something is done about this. If anybody else in Houston is experiencing the same thing we should get together and take it to the media (maybe take it to Akin?) lol. If interested, let me know.

Certainly guaranteed that anyone suffering from this has put some sort of goop, protectant, cleaning solution on their dash. I regularly park outdoors in >40C temps, and never had any issues with this so-called dash melting issue.

I think the issue is using cheap/harsh chemical protectants/cleaning solutions. I use high quality products without harsh chemicals and my dash is fine despite being in 100 degree + temperatures regularly.

I totally agree. It's odd, but only my dash is "sticky" while the door panels are fine. Guess the previous owner used something on it like ArmorAll on it, and now I've got problem.

Only thing I ever used on my car was 303 aerospace protectant, which is not some rinky dink product. To say that it's our fault is completely unfounded and ignorant. The issue appeared for me after year 5 (more or less) of owning it since new and quickly degraded shortly after. I got 0 help from the dealer and Lexus when it first started happening since I was out of warranty.

I have never used anything but a cloth and spray bottle of water since the day I bought my 2007 IS 250 and it's sticky. So no it's not caused by something I put on it.

isolated incident - put the TSB in their face and tell them they already admitted fault.
