You will notice it if you take your car for spirited runs but for city driving, you won't notice it as much. If you track your car then you will notice a huge difference in handling.

But also at 100k miles the suspension is almost done comparing with how it was when the car was 200 miles so handling should feel a lot better as well

As for the the speed 3IS is a bit heavier yet it carries the same engine. it's common sense to be slower no matter what you do to the transmission.

Meh, save your money. if your tracking then it'll help. But for everyday city driving with an occasional "spirited" corner acceleration getting on the freeway then no you don't need it.

A lot gets made of the 3IS weight gain. It's probably good to have some numbers (taken from Lexus Press Room spec sheets).

The difference between a 2013 IS350 RWD (3,527 lbs) and a 2014 IS350 RWD (3,593 lbs) is 66 lbs.

The difference is smaller on the AWD models. The difference between a 2013 IS350 AWD (3,703 lbs) and a 2014 IS350 AWD (3,737 lbs) is 34 lbs.

I think others have also felt that the 2IS system is clearly better. The specs seems to indicate that the 3IS system is be better but we're not hearing it. We got a few friends to double check that we're not hearing things and we all felt the same.

It's too bad that the 3IS doesn't support DTS. Lexus probably didn't want to pay the license fee so they dropped support for DTS. Otherwise, that would have been a very good test as DTS 5.1 makes really good use of the surrounds and the sound quality is 1500kb/s

Who knows, maybe the speakers needs time to break in.
Very interesting. Yeah, I also think the sound is too much in the front as well. I also adjust my car's fade setting more toward the back to make it a bit balanced. I also notice that in the 3IS as well. I just learn about the DTS 5.1 is not supported. Thank you for this information.

If you are looking for balanced performance and comfort in city driving, for the next tire change, I would advice you to give the high performance tires Hankook V12 a try. It handles very good and very very comfortable and quiet at the same time. It is way better than the silly Bridgestone ER33 stock tires.

Also, put on the F Sport rear sway bar. You can feel so much less body roll in cornering even at city driving. It is a big difference in cornering if you push the car hard. Hand down the best mod for me.

Have you compared the handling of your car with the sway bar with the 3IS? Just curious to see if it makes that much of a difference. Is it not necessary to replace the front along with the back? I'm thinking of getting the set of front and rear.

Stock vs. stock, 3is handles better than 2is as mentioned in some of my previous posts.

F Sport springs/shocks/rear sway bar, my IS350 handles better than the 3IS (with NO F Sport package) and almost as good as the 3IS with F sport package. The 3IS F Sport package does make a big difference.

Technically, on the 2is, with just the rear sway bar, the car is very very tail happy. What I mean is understeering is significantly reduced, body roll is way less. I can literally power slide and even drift my car with traction control off. It is also fun and easy to sustain the slide/drift too. I shed so much of my brand new Hankook v12 tires powersliding/drifting in autocross lol

If you add the front and the back, the 2is will be very balanced and neutral. Of course, neutral steering is good for smoothness and lap time. It will not be as tail happy as if you just have the rear sway bar only.

I personally like the car to oversteer a bit for fun so that is why I bought only the F sport rear sway bar.

I'm on Hankook v12 right now. I guess i'll look for swaybars if they price is right. Whats fair for used? 150 cad?

Also realized you had a 250 and a 350. Why would you ever want to drive the 250

Just had a 2is loaner for a week.

Pros-
-steering wheel
-more room overall
-nice bluetooth integration (i don't currently have)
-interior is not melting

Cons-
-more "floaty" suspension than 2is
-styling not good as 2is IMHO
-stereo could have been better
-premium gas on 250 - never knew that

I actually missed my 2is and was very happy to have it back I also was given a 250 loaner and own a 350. I'd probably have to drive the 350 for a through comparison.

I assume you meant you had a 3IS loaner. Yep, premium fuel for both models because of the high compression ratios on both motors.

Honestly, not a big fan of 3IS styling. Front is too aggressive. Don't like Lexus' new spindle grills
