Default Rear View Mirrors

Hey guys,

My rear view mirror is getting pretty dirty and I am unable to clean it with any cleaning supplies. I can barely see out of it and I think I am going to need to get a new one.

I recently went to the dealership and they quoted me a price of about $1000 to ONLY get a new rear view mirror.

I was wondering if you guys can help me out with some tips on how to replace it. Do I just need to buy a new mirror and have someone install it? What is the normal price to replace a rear view mirror? Do I have to replace the entire thing, or just the mirror (because I know the rear view mirror is hooked up to some componenets in the car)??

I had the same issue with my CPO. It was delivered with very degraded viewing due to the back of the mirror. There was a TSB regarding the issue. The dealer didn't want to fix it so after some back and forth I contacted Lexus HQ. They fixed it and gave me courtesy credit for the stink I made.

If Lexus is unwilling to take care of you, there are repair services where you can ship your mirror in to have it fixed.
