The vinyl overlay on the chrome trim that wraps around the side windows on my car has lifted in many spots and it drives me nuts. At the point were I either want to remove it completely and cover up all the chrome trim using 3m vinyl (something oem looking) or possibly peel everything back and use some sort of adhesive to repair it.

I've seen a few threads about blacking out the chrome trim but nothing on removing or repairing the trim. Anyone done such or know of a tread about such I'm missing?

I tried to glue down the vinyl on the upper window trim, but it did not come out as nice as I would have liked. It was lumpy under the vinyl from the glue and there was a little excess glue on the chrome that didnt look good. I ended up ordering 4 new upper trim pieces from Sewell lexus. They were a little pricey at $300.00, but I like the OE look and didnt like the idea of painting or covering them with vinyl. The pieces are pop-riveted in place, and need to be drilled out and re-riveted into place. It took me a couple of hours to do the install...

If you are in south florida and wanted to replace the trim I could help you out...

that's about what I thought. really don't want to do anything subpar which if they are bolted on the car while repairing seems like it will be. If I were you yank all mine off which tops and bottoms are failing I would strip them all and black chrome them or such but was hoping I didn't have to pull the door panels etc.
