Default 3M clear bra for entire car

Hey guys,

I didn't even know this existed until recently. Anyone here got their entire car or at least the whole front portion installed with the 3M clear bra?

I might just do the headlights since I already have some stone chips on my hood and alot on my bumper. But in a way it seems silly, its like saran wrapping your car. Like people saran wrapping remote controls or couches from the 70's. Lol.

You've just heard of clear bra?! lol Wow

People have been doing it for years. It's expensive, works great and is somewhat unnoticable on most cars. Except white. My husband has it on his rear quarters on the STI because they flare out and are prone to rock chips. He has had it on there for 6 years and it is horrible to look at.....it is yellow. Even when it was first put on you could see the line after a bit because it turned black from dirt.

It does work well though...my friend had it on his daughter's gray Mazda 3 and she got into a little accident.....when he peeled off the clear bra to see the damage the paint underneath was nearly perfect.

I had 3M clear bra in the whole front. It is not really noticeable until you are close to the car. It has been on for 3 years and NOT a single rock chip on my front bumper. Clean as first day.

I used to put it on the full rear bumper too but I removed it.

There is a new thing out now that you can clear bra your car your self. They sell it at almost all the auto stores. I think it is by 3m as well. Its pretty cool because you have control on how thin or thick you want the clear bra to be and since its a spray on you can do the whole car with ease at a cheaper price.

I was going to do it, but when I bought my car used I already had chips so I didn't bother. Probably when and if I get my front end repainted then I will do it.

This seems more of a paint coating like Opticoat. I don't think it can protect front bumper from rock chips like the 3M clear bra does.

I wish I got my car clear bra-ed the day I bought it in 2007. I got many panels on the car repainted in 2010 and thought that maybe since the paint isn't the eco-friendly japanese paint it would hold up better. It did not.

I've seen a whole NSX with a clear bra...it can be done but how much do you really want to spend?

If you are going to clear bra the whole car, might as well vinyl the car a different color.

From what i've seen, if you get a clear bra only like the front of your car, where ever the bra ends, it catches dirt and you can see a fine line of where the dirt is caught compared to the unwrapped portion.
