Default Just purchased IS350 '06

Hello all,
Just purchased a 2006 IS350, 83k miles.
Quick question, is there an easy or any way to tell
if the 60k or 75k maintenance was done? The guy I bought it from said 75k was done by previous owner but that is just word of mouth.
Thanks!

I think if you log on to the Lexus site with your vin. But he he did it himself or independent shop no way of telling. Welcome to the CL & congrats on the purchase.

Ask him who did the service. Even an independent shop will have a record. We own one, and we keep records on every job we do.

Welcome to CL. The most expensive service is the spark plugs at 60K. The rest is brake fluid, cabin filter, air filter, oil change, etc. plus regular maintenance such as tires, brakes, and windshield wipers.

there no such thing as 75K. do the 60K to be safe, the plugs and all fluids, its worth the 500 usd that it will cost at an independent mech.

Woo hoo ... welcome to the Club.... Clubbbbbb Lexussssss

You can check maintenance history through drivers.lexus.com. Once you sign up and account, you can add a car by VIN number and then see its maintenance records.

To be safe, you should do the 60k service like every one suggested.

There is. You should be replacing engine oil and oil filter as well as cleaning the air conditioner filter, OP.

To answer your question, OP, I would check Lexus Drivers if they did their maintenance at a Lexus Dealership. If not, take it to Lexus for their 1xx (the number escapes me)-point inspection. That'll let you know what the car needs. If anything make sure the 60k service was completed. Thats engine oil and oil filter, air conditioner filter, brake fluid, engine air filter, and spark plugs.

Yep, just do the 60k services (spark plug, brake flush, oil change, AC filter, engine filter, alignment) for safety especially when you are clear on whether they did it or not. This saves you so much headache down the road.

I would also recommend rear differential oil change. I did it on my IS250 with 30k miles and it drives smoother than a new car.

I already signed up for that site where you put in the VIN;
it only had stuff done by Lexus until 25-30k miles only.

So far the car's been great. Its a replacement for my mint
'08 S2000 that a teenager totaled a few weeks ago..
Both cars definitely have their pluses and minuses.

Random question: do you guys think $15.5k for an '06 with
83k miles is a decent price? The car is fully optioned out.

yes, thats a good price. Mine had 60000 miles but no nav, lighted base boards, or air seats for $16.5. Paid an additional 3k for platnum warranty until 100k.

Thank you guys

Just reading that thread with the 250k mile Lexus..
The guy did his plugs only once at 120k miles and seemed to
be fine.
I remember I changed the plugs on my first car
(97 civic) at like 152k and no issues, still got epa mileage
and drove the same when I sold it.

Can anyone shed any light on this?
