That actually looks really nice. Looks time consuming but worth it. How many beers did you go through in the process? Lol

1 Large beer, and 1 regular beer... was too focused and kept forgetting to drink.

I want to redo a couple spots, but overall it turned out nicely. I think some of the double sided tape bunched up on the top part of the wheel which I can just barely see... but it still bugs me a bit.

It is going to take a little while to get used to a thicker steering wheel.

Just to clarify, you just sew the covers together and thats how it works? You also mentioned double sided tape?

Feeling, I think is good. But give me a few days to really decide.

Thin double sided tape (looks similar to masking tape until you peel it off) is used to help hold things in place. I was worried about it damaging the original steering wheel leather, but after trying it in some spots, it seems to rub off easily and with no residue or damage. But who knows it that will be the same case after it has time to settle and soak up heat.

Looks good! been wanting a thicker steering wheel and this might just be how i can do it w/out buying a new wheel.

Was it easy to remove the plastic stuff on the steering wheel?

Thanks

Dead simple. Two covers on the side of the steering wheel (one is around the cruise control ****, the other is same area but other side). Pop those off, use a torx head to unscrew a screw on each side (they will be tight). Air bag should pop out once the screws are loose. Then there are 2 more screws holding in the switch assemblies.

This looks amazing. I'm gonna go ahead and order mine. Sure beats getting a new steering wheel!

Thank you for sharing!

I started mine today but ran out of light outside to finish the top. The hardest part so far is figuring out how to tuck the loose ends in without it looking like poo. I got the two bottom sections done and it looks good. I have the top left. I didn't remove the airbag so I'm just using the spatula I'll finish it up tomorrow and will post pics.

Stupid question bud, but do the covers absolutely need to be removed for this install? And if yes, can you take some pictures or a video on how exactly you did it for stupid people like me :P?

Thanks!
