Low Oil

Low Oil
So I have gotten my oil changed at Good Year the past couple of times and today I decided to make the change from conventional oil to synthetic oil. So I did the oil change and after I poored the old oil from the pan back into the jug to dispose it I only had about 5 quarts of oil. So this got me wondering does my car burn too much oil or was I driving with only 5 quarts for the past 8 months. I also never got a low oil warning.

You had the oil change performed at Goodyear, and they didn't dispose of the oil themselves?
Anyhow, yes, that amount is low. I can tell you that when you do an oil change on the car that you don't get 100% of the old oil out of it. I have a 7qt drop pan I use in my garage, and I'd say I get about 6qts once the oil from the pan AND the oil filter are drained.
In the future, just monitor the oil level. When I traveled cross-country back when, I checked the oil level at every gas station.

low warning light to be very low for it to come on, these cars take 6.2l but these cars are also known to burn oil. perform synthetic motul oil change and monitor from there. check for any dtc. if any pending misfire code will determine if new piston rings will be needed.
