Default Got a minor hit in a parking lot...

The guy left a note... I cant believe it!

Anyhow my question to you guys is, do you think that this type of damage can be repaired and if so would it be better to go that route or buy a new painted bumper from Sewell Lexus.

I know blending paint can be hard for this color so I am not 100% sure what the best route to go is.

I would buy it from sewell just because every collision shop is different. I haven't personally tried sewell but I heard its quality stuff.

Got backed into the same exact way. Repaint whole rear bumper and add flexible additive to rear bumper. $4-$600 repair.

A new Sewell bumper cover won't match. The color will be off. A good quality repair shop can do great. Where in WA are you? I have a great one I've used in the past.

I would have it repaired honestly I would have the shop spray the whole bumper not just half of it. You figure if you get a new bumper it will have fresh paint same like how a shop would do it. Have them remove the bumper repair damage primer paint the whole bumper

Definitely repainted. It looks like possibly a piece of the absorber might have been penetrated as well. You will have to uninstall, repair -or replace given body shop's expertise, paint, and then install. The price will vary anywhere from 500-1k

New would be cheaper but may be off like some are saying if you pay out of pocket with the guy who hit you. Repaint will be more

I would leave it alone. you can always repaint it but who knows, you might get another ding/scratch/scuff/minor hit at any point there after. if you do decide on repainting it, I would strongly suggest wrapping the bumper in PPF to protect from minor damages in the future.

Have to agree with 90mx83...

I just noticed the other day, the car behind me must've kissed my bumper at my kid's little league game. He/she was gone by the time I left but left two license plate bolt marks on the bottom of my bumper. I plan on just touch up painting it. I cant rectify spending that much money on a new bumper and paint for such a small ding and likely would happen again. Lots of jerks in cars they dont care about in the bay area and if you park in the city, forget it. Your bumpers are done.

If they will paint for this damage, then just take it to a good shop. You do not want to frown every time you see a flawed paint job.

Sewell will sell you the painted bumper, but who will install it? Correctly?

Do the right thing. Take it to a shop. Get a rental car.
