Default Help deciding between 2 2011 is350's 1 cpo 1 not

Hello everyone newbie here,

I need help deciding on which is350 to purchase, both are 2011 one a cpo one non cpo, the cpo has 40k miles while the non cpo only has 30k. Both have identical features, the cpo is listed about $2000 higher than the non cpo at 31k, I am under the impression that I could haggle on this price a tad as it seems a tad high to me, the non cpo is listed at $29k but as stated only has 30k miles, I would be fine with the cpo if the dealer would be willing to bring the price otd to around 28.5k or 29k, is it fair for me to assume that as a reasonable otd price.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am new to lexus and the isx50's.

Thanks.

Lexus cars go through a rigorous 160 steps to becoming a CPO. It is a little bit higher in price but it includes numerous things such a services and extra warranty.

When my girlfriend bought her IS350, the dealer did the 35k miles service, new tires, and alignment.

In short, Lexus does not just slap on the CPO sticker without going above and beyond in terms of making the car seem new. I'm sure both cars you listed are going to be fine, but extra warranty wins me over every time.

Good luck!

i wouldn't use the term "rigorous". But yes they change the oil, make sure the tires have a certain % of tread left or replace them, detail it, etc. Chances are they have a low level tech go through and check the boxes. Heres the checklist for a lexus CPO: http://www.lexus.com/cpo/pdf/CPO_161_Checklist.pdf

I would ask the reason why the cheaper one isn't a CPO as well.

Well, after reading a few threads on the topic, the CPO vehicles Lexus tends to not be really negotiable on. So you're like me and trust the car will be fine for the next few years (more than likely it will), I'd talk them down another grand or two and then close on it.

Either way, with a 350...you cannot lose!

I'll say go with either one. I have over 140k miles on my 07 is350 and no issues. When I bought mines, it wasn't cpo either. I love the reliability and power of the is350 rwd.

I am now leaning towards the CPO, thanks to the input from everyone, also from research I have found out that it is actually a is350 f sport, does anyone think I am crazy for expecting the dealer to do $30k otd when it is listed at essentially 32k remember it has 42k miles.

If the non-CPO car is really 2K less you can invest $1-200 and take the car to a Lexus dealer and have the same inspection done. If there are problems then that is something you can use to negotiate the price down. Saves you quite a bit on money

CPO. The mileage difference is negligible but I would definitely try to haggle with them.
