Default Melting dash board prevention?

So I just read up on a thread regarding this but everyone who posted already had their dash board damaged by the sun or by chemical products. For those who don't have this problem just yet, do you think getting a clear front windshield tint would be good enough to prevent this issue? The previous owner used a dash board cover but he took it off when he sold it to me 3 weeks ago. By the way, I live in norcal so it's gets pretty hot here during the summer and I don't want to be another victim.
Thanks!

Here's the thread if you were unaware: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=527384

The root cause of the problem is:
1. HEAT from sun
2. UV ray from sun
3. Temperature fluctuation (super hot, then super cold ...etc) and the materials expands and contract to create crack

Windshield tint will help 1 and 2 and may be even 3 so definitely windshield tint is very good solution.

Also, I clean the interior with Meguiar interior detailer and then I apply 303 protectant. This definitely help on 2. Dash looks brand new like day 1 for many years.

Has anyone gotten the clear tint on their windshield? How did you like it? Noticeable difference?

No prevention, this a known flaw/defect these IS's have until 2010 model. There's many threads on this..

Does the clear tint block UA radiation?

A windshield sun screen when parked should help a lot with this issue. I always crack the sun roof too to allow the heat out on a sunny day.

my 06 was always windshield screened, carported at work, garaged at home, 35% tinted, and still has sticky dash. I did everything I could to keep it out of the sun as much as I can.

Prevention is the key. I have both two cars one is 06 and one is 12. Both dash look perfect.

Buy the sunshade that is customized to our IS interior from Sewell for like $25. It has perfect fitment and it greatly reduce the heat from the sun.

I am more interested in the clear tint considering that sounds like a great solution.

I agree with the proper sunshade. I can definitely tell the heat inside the car is significantly reduced by many degrees - from my seats and steering wheel actually burning to the touch to just being very warm. That has to be good for many aspects of the interior.
