Carbon Fiber Roof Wrap
Hey Guy,
Thought i would share my recent wrap,
i know some people are against roof wrap, if you are one of those, please dont read on.....
for the rest, here it is,
I used 3M Automotive wrap.
Removed the fin,
Just pop open the rear dome light, and about 3 inches back, you will see a single bolt holding it down.
To remove the rear dome, pull down at it from the side closer to the rear window.
After that, i claybarred the roof and than installed it
As for the Fin, i needed more time to wrap it as it is a very weird shape, and so for the time being, i ended up plasti-dipping it so that i didnt stand out to much.
enjoy.

Looks good! My local body shop wants $480 to paint mine glossy black. I'm thinking wrap now.
A couple ?'s. Do you plan on clear coating it to make it shiny? It might flow better with the tint. Do you plan on doing the side gutters? I think that would finish the job. Also instead of pastidip or struggling with wrapping your fin maybe you could do one of these?

@daileycon no i dont plan on clear coating it. i like the CF look and feel. I will be doing the side gutters as well. it will be in the same CF finish. as for the antenna, those on ebay are just stick on ones, so that wont work for me, but i am going to get it hydro-dipped here in CF finish.
@pchan0 the roof rails simply pop off, there are two clips, one at each end, just pull up on it and they will come off.

i have the whole roll as im doing a full wrap on my other car and doing some other roofs for some friends.
but typically they come 60" wide and you need about 5ft to be safe, but just measure how long your roof is.
as far as time, took me about an hour, but let me be clear, in the past, i have used ebay CF wraps and they have taken a lot longer, the 3M brand is quality, lasts a lot longer and goes on a lot easier.
i have attached a link of my other car that i am doing a full wrap on.

tbulsara, thanks for sharing. Very nice work!
Do you have any say on the maintenance of the CF wraps? How do you clean bird drops, acid rains, water spot and stuff like that? Can you polish and wax CF wraps? If not, what do you apply on them to protect? That is the thing I'm worrying about before wrapping some area.
