Default Attn: Velgen VMB5 owners. How blue are your wheels?

So I just got my shipment of 19" Velgen VMB5's in Matte Gunmetal. The newest finish according to Paul from Howey Industries.

I was under the impression that they toned down the blue and used a gray base now instead. Well that was what Paul informed me on the phone when I ordered them.

I was expecting something like this finish

But instead when I opened up the box I was kinda surprised to see the wheels looking kinda bluish.

I called Velgen directly and actually spoke with the owner who was a VERY NICE guy btw. He told me that the finish I got was the latest one.. and the previous finish was even much more blue.

You should be able to get the finish you wanted. If you contacted them then how come you didn't express your dissatisfaction? Make sure they know you only bought the wheels because you expected the finish to be more grey; that's what they advertised it as, and the product you received is clearly not in the same finish they have advertised.

Don't get them mounted or else you're for sure stuck with them

Yeah, I wouldn't mount them. I would e-mail him the photos ( of the car on top and your wheels) then call him and asked if he received your e-mail and try to work something out. Never just take something your not satisfied with. It's your money.

What the others said. Don't get them mounted until you resolve the problem.

Thanks guys. I won't mount them until I get a hold of Paul (Vendor here) tomorrow and figure out what's going on. I'm pretty sure we will solve this mystery, he seemed like a nice fella on the phone and a legit vendor here on CL.

I'm surprised because apparently the 19" version ONLY came in the newer gray based gunmetal finish.

Here is the thread where it clearly shows the "new" gunmetal (gray based) vs. the old gunmetal (blue based).

My set are CLEARLY blue based.

Doesn't look bad in my opinion. What color is your car? But for sure you should get what you had in mind for, your investment after all! Hopefully they'll resolve this for you in a timely manner

Car is starfire pearl white. I'm thinking about just powder coating them to a unique color, maybe Titanium or something....
