Default Mobil 1 ESP 5W30

Does anyone use the Mobil 1 ESP 5W/30 for the 2IS? I have a 2006 IS250. But the mobil1 website oil check recommender tool seems to only recommend the 0W20

I use 0w-20 synthetic for 2012 Is250 and 5w-30 synthetic for 2006 IS350. Go with the Lexus manual.

User manual and dealership both say 5W30. There isnt as much product ranges from Mobil here in Europe. Although the Mobil 1 ESP 5W30 meets the 5W30 requirement, does it meet the API requirement? here is an extract from the technical specs for the Mobil1 ESP 5W30:

Can anyone advise if this is a suitable product? Thanks

Mobil 1 ESP Formula 5W-30 has the following builder approvals:
  • BMW Longlife 04
  • MB-Approval 229.31/229.51
  • Volkswagen (Gasoline / Diesel) 504 00 / 507 00
  • Porsche C30
  • Chrysler MS-11106
  • Peugeot/Citroën Automobiles B71 2290, B71 2297
  • AVTOVAZ LADA cars

Mobil 1 ESP Formula 5W-30 meets or exceeds the requirements of:
  • ACEA C2, C3
  • API (Meets Engine Test Requirements) SM / SN
  • JASO DL-1
  • AAE (STO 003) Group B6

According to ExxonMobil, Mobil 1 ESP Formula 5W-30 is of the following quality level:
  • API CF
  • Volkswagen (Gasoline) 502 00 / 503 00 / 503 01
  • Volkswagen (Diesel) 505 00 / 505 01 / 506 00 / 506 01
  • All VW engines with the exception of Unit-Injector / Pump-Duse TDI without LongLife Service and without DPF between 1999-2003 and R5/V10-TDi before model year 2006

main reason 3IS and newer lexus recommend 0W-20 is to get the extra 1 mpg you get if you use the lighter weight oil despite the engine being exactly the same as the 2IS which used 5W-30. I may switch to 5W-30 since the temperatures are warmer in the south.
