The one thing I'm envious of on other cars I see is the power trunk! For a car in this segment, I can't believe it doesn't have it - probably more useful than the rear sunshade option I have!

To clarify, my car's trunk latch will release when I press either the button on my remote or the button inside the car. However, it doesn't actually lift up the trunk. And it most definitely doesn't bring it back down and close it either!

If anyone knows whether this is a doable mod and has any info to share I'd appreciate it.

Anything is possible with money!!

You can probably get some of the parts from The LS460 and attempt to make it work but the sensors and switches that it uses is probably wont work to well with the IS electronics. It almost has to be a standalone system powered off the car battery or a completely different battery all together

Neat idea. I wonder the same too and has anyone successfully completed this project? I would definitely want the power trunk.

My wife's RX has this and I love it. Maybe I could switch in the middle of the night hmmm

Yeah, the RX definitely was a contributor to this. I have to admit the genesis of this idea for me was being in the "drive through" pick up line at my kids' school and seeing all the minivans/SUVs with their power lifts.
And then cringing hearing my kids slam my trunk shut!
